Digital retouching has revolutionized the photographic industry’s retouching capabilities overnight. From slimming entire bodies, to doing facelifts, to offering flawless (and poreless) complexions, the possibilities are endless..
As a kid in my twenties, I still remember seeing my very first print develop in the darkroom. In my eyes it was nothing short of “magic” and I was awed! I am equally mesmerized today with the exciting advancements of digital manipulation. It’s added a new and significant dimension to my craft, allowing me to serve my clients in better ways. |
I’ve been studying digital photography and retouching since 2001 and have developed my skills in this area to a fairly high degree. With that ability however, comes certain responsibilities. I call it the “art of discernment,” which is knowing how far to go and knowing when to stop. It’s important to maintain the integrity of the subject(s). There are times in commercial circumstances where the extreme and/or bizarre is the desired result. Most of my clients however simply want to look like the best version of themselves, not like someone else.
