The Norman Rockwell Effect

| These Portraits Looks Different. Why is that?
Recent experimentation led me to develop an effect I’ve since dubbed “The Rockwell Effect”. Though beloved American artist Norman Rockwell’s original paintings were executed in oil on canvas – when reproduced on posters and magazine covers like the Saturday Evening Post – the venues through which most of us are familiar with his work – his images more resembled pen and ink and watercolors. |
It is Rockwell’s style of rendering light, shadow and contrast, that likewise allows my portraits to perhaps evoke nostalgic memories of a simpler time in America.
